Wii uDraw Review – Wii uDraw Game Tablet Review
The Wii uDraw Game Tablet is so much fun! Check out this Wii uDraw Review!
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Wii uDraw Review! I saw a commercial the other day for this awesome game to draw on your TV using your Wii. I was pretty excited. I felt it would make a great gift for my children, who are 3 and 5.
I went to the store and I could not find one. They are actually pretty darn hard to find. I finally purchased a Wii uDraw Game Tablet on Amazon. I will give you a link below so you can check it out at Amazon. I decided to store it in the closet for that certain day. To make a long story short, my 5 year old “accidentally” came across it. So we busted it out and started playing with it.

Before you read my review of the Wii uDraw Game Tablet I wanted to let you in on a very well kept secret. There is a company that does consumer reviews and testing on popular name brand electronics. They give away these products in return for feedback and reviews on the products. Right now they are looking for a a group of people that will test and provide feedback on a Dell and Apple Laptop. In return you get to keep both laptops. These never last long, I just got mine today! Check it out below.

Wii uDraw Game Tablet Review
Since the surprise was spoiled, I un-boxed it and let the kids play with it. THQ who is a third party developer has came up with the uDraw Wii Game Tablet. It’s is actually called uDraw Studio – Game and Tablet.
The Tablet is the actual peripheral and uDraw Studio is the actual game that comes bundled with the tablet. At a quick glance some of the things you can do with uDraw studio is…
- Painting – Paint or draw using over 9 different media options
- Toolbox – Change colors, brushes, or canvases with your toolbox at the flick of a button
- Coloring Book – Color in the lines or out, choosing from a variety of styles and themes
- Replay – Watch how a work of art is created stroke-by-stroke for a true learning experience
- Gallery – Peruse your latest masterpieces in an easy-to-use, organized manner; or replay and augment your creations
- Save and Share – Using an SD card, you can share your masterpieces with friends and family
All of those things are just as advertised. It works pretty good. I loved some of the things you could do with the internet connection. My wife actually
thought of the kids designing our family cards and going online, uploading them and sending them out. I thought that was pretty cool, and the whole process was actually pretty easy.

THQ has managed to make the Wii uDraw Game Tablet feel a lot like a first party accessory. Typically third party hardware can be pretty flimsy and just cheap feeling. The Wii uDraw Game Tablet is actually very well made. If I had to guess I would say it was manufactured by Nintendo.
It’s a little thick at first feel. I was surprised by how thick it was because there can’t be that much processing inside the machine. I have not taken it apart yet, but I kind of wonder what they needed all that room for.
It actually feels really nice in my hand though. It was really comfortable. The stylus that has a slot that it pops out of, has a string that attaches it. This is very convenient when it’s being used by kids. It helps make sure the stylus
does not get lost.
Go ahead and slide the Wii remote into the slot that is designated for it and start playing. One minor gripe I have is you can not navigate the Wii system menu with the wiimote in the designated uDraw game tablet slot. You have to pull it out in order to navigate, which is a little weird.
A huge relief of mine was when I found out the hardware does not require separate batteries. When connected to the Wii it fully functions without any other power source. Huge perk of the hardware!

Wii uDraw Studio Game Bundle
Wii uDraw Studio is the game that is bundled with the Wii uDraw Game Tablet. It is a way toned down version of Corel. It is pretty limited but very
appropriate for the age that this hardware is targeting.
If you an artist and your used to working expensive software on your PC, then Wii uDraw Studio and Game Tablet are going to probably disappoint you. It really is targeted for a younger audience. They kept it simple which is really good for my kids. Any more complicating and they may not have been able to use it very well.
Like I said above, the Wii uDraw Game Tablet is exactly what you expect, creative and fun! This will make a perfect gift for your kids of all ages. To use this I would say the child needs to be at least 3. Any younger and they probably wont be able to use the stylus real well.
You and your kids are going to have a lot of fun! With the SD card compatibility your kids will love taking their work over to their friends and families houses.
Remember, this is hardware not a game. They will be making more games as the system matures. There are already two games out that are compatible with the Wii uDraw Game Tablet.
